OCTOBER NEWSLETTER

PRESIDENTS MESSAGE: Thank you all who attended the September's general meeting and a special thanks to Dr. Stephen Thiessen of apl. Environmental Inc. and Camile Attrach of Tri-Phase environmental for presenting entertaining and interesting topics. We had a very respectable turnout for the first meeting of our fiscal year, but please do not forget to book in advance through our phoning committee. I am very pleased to announce that plans for our annual advertisers night are well on there way to be finalized and I urge you all to attend and spread the word of this spectacular event to your suppliers and contractors to allow them the time to attend as well. Despite general meeting majority, we will be proceeding with a venue of comic entertainment. Our associations non-profit business plan is to increase membership, provide quality educational materials and an atmosphere that can foster and perpetuate a wonderful tool called networking which we firmly believe will assist everyone in career and skills development. Anyone interested in an official position of Sergeant at Arms is welcome to attend our next executive meeting at Kally's restaurant in Scarborough on November 7th to investigate the duties at hand. SOCIAL Jamie also has made arrangements for our annual Theatre Night which is February 28th 2002 at the CBC's Broadcast Centre for a tapping of the Royal Canadian Air Farce. Keep posted for further details. The T.B.M.O.A.'s support of the Batten Disease Golf Tournament held at Mill Run Golf & Country club July 10th, 2001 was a hugh success. The Carr family and Batten Disease research would like to thank TBMOA Members as well as their suppliers and contractors for their support in this worthy cause. Erv is also very happy to report that the efforts helped raise in excess of $10,000.00. Hope to see you again next year. TBMOA would also like to make mention about the formation of a new golf committee who are promising to bring an additional event next summer. Keep posted for details
