Time: 6:00 pm. for registration -- 6:30 pm (sharp for dinner) Place: Ellas Restaurant, 702 Pape Avenue, Toronto (across from the Pape subway station) Topic: Elections For 2001-2002, Budget Presentation I would like to thank our February speaker Mr. Bob Steenson of Ontario Air Systems and Mr. Srdjan Mioc of Ontario Air Systems for an outstanding presentation on BAS, Open Systems Architecture and the update on lon, backnet and web based access, I understand I have created some tension amongst the wives for the arrangement of our February Meeting which took place on Valentines Day. Please accept my deepest apologies for such inconvenience. Again, our elections are upon us and I ask all members to please vote, either by proxy ballet or nomination ballot, it is important that all members cast their vote. I remind you, all positions are open on the board. If you would like to serve on a committee, positions are available there as well. Thanks to all of you for your support. Buyers Guide: To date, we have over 70 ads signed up for our Buyers' Guide. If you know of any advertiser interested in advertising, please ask them to call Mr. Ken Vanderputt at (416)296-2918. Ken is chairman of this committee, and he has done a fine job. Membership: We are persuing more members for our association, if you know of anyone interested, please have them call Tris Scott at (416)864-0842 or Bob Steenson at (905)428-8080 Intercity: Our next Intercity Function will be in NewYork, the weekend of April 6-8, 2001. Tris Scott our recording secretary and Bill Herridge, President, will be attending. If you have any questions or ideas, please submit them to me by fax or voice mail. Social: The taping of the Royal Canadian Air Farce Show on Thursday February 15, 2001 was again a huge success. Thanks to the hard work of Mr. Jamie Macpherson with organizing this event, and the dinner organization, completed by Mr. Tris Scott. Many thanks gentlemen! Phone Committee: This committee works hard to carry out all the phone calls to our members. A kind reminder that all calls be returned to your phone committee representative. For any info or any matters concerning this committee, contact Tony Almeida at (416) 864-0834. Education: We are asking all members to come up with ideas or suggestions for an all day or half day seminar on a topic related to our field. If we receive a lot of these ideas and suggestions, it will broaden the selection. Employment: We are currently keeping a list of available jobs and if you are interested, please contact us ASAP, as the positions are filled quickly. She will be working with our member Joe Cini in monitoring and making changes to our web page. It was a very long time in coming and we are heading in the right direction to serve our members with the information faster. We would appreciate your comments, suggestions and ideas related to our web page. This will be a useful tool to all of us as the electronic age will be around a long time. Our Annual Dinner/Dance this year will be held at the Colony Hotel 89 Chestnut Street, Toronto, Ontario on Saturday June 2, 2001. Please reserve your tickets early as they are going quite quickly.
