JUNE NEWSLETTER
Thanks to all of you who attended our May 9, 2001 General Meeting. This was an excellent tour of how different cables are made. This is my final presidents' message to all of you. Thank you so much for your support and guidance to our association. It is very important that our members continue to work toward a common goal of leadership by serving time on one of the committees. Thanks to all of my Board of Directors for their hard work and dedication . Please continue to support us. We are professionals with the highest standards. Committee Reports Buyers Guide: The final touches have been applied to our 2001 Buyers' Guide. Many thanks to Ken Vanderputt and his commitment to this book. They have worked hard to deliver this book to the Wednesday June 13, 2001 meeting. This book is a necessary tool for all of us. If you have any questions, please call Ken Vanderputt at 416-296-2918 Membership: If you know of anyone eligible for membership, please have them call Tris Scott at 416-864-0842 or our co-chair Bob Steenson 905-428-8080 Intercity: Our Intercity meeting was hosted by Toronto on Friday June 1, 2001 at the Toronto Colony Hotel. This meeting was very informative keeping us abreast on all current issues to all of us in operations at all levels. We also touch upon membership, advertising and web page advertising. Thankyou to Chicago, New York, Detroit and L.B.M.O.A., Mr. Fred Schumann, President, for attending our weekend events. These minutes will be available at our Wednesday, June 13/01 General Meeting. Social: Our Dinner/Dance took place on Saturday June 2/01 at the Toronto Colony Hotel with over 174 people in attendance. Special thanks to Mr. Ross Haagsma on MC for the evening and Mr. Ken Vanderputt for all his efforts in organizing all the ticket sale arrangements. A special guest singer Mr. Bal Bertulfo, excellent singing Bal. Sickness and Distress: Dan Coppinger our life member had surgery and is on the mend to a quick recovery .If you have any info please contact Bal Bertulfo at 416-296-2900 Phone Committee: For any information on any matters concerning this committee, contact Tony Almeida at 416-864-0834 Education: Thankyou to all members who attended our ADR Seminar held on Friday June 1 2001 at the Colony Hotel. This was an excellent seminar and was free to all the members. We encourage all members to participate in these seminars. We will do our best to get this information out to individuals looking for employment. **Special Note** Congratulations to Mr. Reg Harrilal for his outstanding contributions in the winning of the Presidents Choice Award. This award is given to a Board Member who has shown commitment to our success, which Reg shows all the time. With over 22 years of commitment to this association, Congrats Reg, you earned it.
