~ Notice of General Meeting ~

Date: Wednesday, June 9, 2010

Time: 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Menkes - TELUS Tower building tour
7:30- 8:30 p.m. Dinner @ Penelope Restaurant, 225 King St. West.

On June 9th 2010, the arrangements have been made through Alex Viloa Director of the TBMOA and Kevin Wright, Operations Supervisor @ the TELUS Tower 25 York St., for the Toronto Building Manager's and Operator's Association to tour this New Building. Location: links to a map of the area and the directions to the Site.

The TELUS tower is west of the Air Canada center and south of Union Station, 25 York St, corner of York St. and Bremner Blvd.

Mr. Kevin Wright will be the tour guide. This building is a state of the art Commercial facility. The tour will include the new green initiatives in the building like rain/storm water cistern, deep water cooling, VFD's and DDC controls.

The Dinner for this meeting is being held @ Penelope Greek restaurant in the north entrance of the Metro Center, 225 King St. West.. If you are joining us for dinner, please park your vehicle underneath the restaurant. We are meeting at the 25 York St. in the lobby area.

When you dine @ Penelope Parking is free after 5:00pm on weekdays, and all-day on weekends in the Metro Centre access from Wellington and Simcoe Streets.

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:

The April meeting was a Tour of the Enwave Deep Lake Water Cooling Plant in Down Town Toronto.

Peter Harasti, Customer Accounts Manager and Yianni Soumalias - Enwave Energy Corporation guided our group from the Toronto Building Manager's and Operator's Association in to the lower levels of the pumping station where the cool treated water from Lake Ontario (300 Feet down @ 4ºC. (12ºF)) is passed through very large plate heat exchangers where the treated water is warmed up to about 12ºC (56ºF). At the same time the other side of the heat exchange system cools down the return water from the underground Enwave cooling system that is pumped to over 60 buildings. Our May general meeting was one of our largest of the year. It was held @ the Imperial Buffet. Laura Chapman and Lori Prymych from HD Supply Litemor arranged for Guest speakers Ms. Lisa Fraser, Account Manager, GE Consumer & Industrial and Dana D Shutt, Director, National Accounts of HD Supply Litmor. Dana outlined the merits of Lamp recycling program and the LumiSmart Intelligent Lighting Controller for fluorescent lamps. Lisa explained the extensive line of energy saving lighting available from GE

New York had their inter-city meeting and grand ball on the weekend of April 25th, 2009. Colin Jones, Peter Choi and spouse were present.

Social and buyers guide

Ken Vanderputt and his committee have put together and mailed out the next edition of the Buyers Guide. If you have any advertisers that want to support the association please contact Ken @ 416 868-3639.

New Business

In the near future our Web site will be up-graded to include new features. Keep tuned.
