PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE:

The mild winter season is now changing to normal winter weather. I hope Christmas was good to all and your New Year resolution is realistic and achievable.

Our November General Meeting was held on Wednesday the 8th. . Mr. Harold Simpson of Black & Decker/DeWALT tools outlined the use of power tools with an underlining theme for power tool safety. One of the interesting topics was the proper care of batteries. The use of a Smart charger will extend the life of the battery and minimize the enemy of the cell - HEAT.

The door prize, donated DeWALT power tools, was a DC 011 Radio Charger. John Norris was the lucky winner. I'm sure John will find a relaxing use of this fine prize. Lisa Fraser from Lightmor/Home Depot Supply was instrumental in arranging this presentation, thank you Lisa.

I wish to welcome a new member Mr. Allan Aquino from the Crown Life Building @ 175 Bloor St. East.

Some invoices for the membership for the 2006 year were delayed and you may find them in your mail box in the coming days. If you have experienced a change of address, please contact Peter Chow @ 416 862-2255, so be can keep our mailing list up to date.

Our January meeting was a planned visit to the Deep Water Cooling plant and had to be postponed due to on going construction within the plant. The response to the regular Wednesday January 10th meeting was very low so it was cancelled.

On Thursday February 15th. (Wednesday is Valentines Day) a tour of the Enwave Steam plant on Pearl St. has been arranged along with Dinner @ Casey's followed with a general meeting on the 3rd floor of 123 Front st. Tris Scott the Chairman of the Board and Peter Chow were instrumental in arranging this tour etc.

NOTE: The February meeting will be on Thursday not Wednesday to allow members to attend their Valentine Day obligations.

March meeting will be a presentation from the Ministry of Labour outlining their building inspection procedure. Recently the ministry has hired more inspectors to help minimize accidents in the work place. This presentation will be geared to the commercial building environment.

See you on February 15th. for an informative visit to the Steam Plant.
Thank You, Yours Truly,

Colin Jones
President
