Topic: Mohan Thavaratnam will give a presentation on heat exchanger maintenance followed by tour of the Alfa Laval plant. PRESIDENTS'MESSAGE Our October meeting featured a very informative presentation by Tony Kassis and Douglas Westover of Ecosystems. Topics covered included methods Ecosystems employs to reduce operating cost in commercial office buildings. Their specialty is in energy efficiency. They plan, design, implement and finance a wide range of turn key projects that enable building owners and managers to reduce their energy cost. We thank Tony and Douglas for coming out to speak to us. The November meeting will be held at the Alfa Laval Plant at 101 Milner Road in Scarborough. Mohan Thavaratnam has graciously opened the doors of his facility to the association once again. For those of us who were present at the last gathering at this fine facility, recall the wonderful time had by all, so I encourage everyone to come out and join us on November 12th. November 11th. is the time when we all take a few moments to remember those who served in the armed services during the great wars to preserve our way of life. It gives me a great deal of pleasure to recognize members of this association, who gave of their time to serve in the armed forces. I give you Mr. George Rimmer, Mr. John Norris and Mr. Leo Hicks these fine gentlemen served our country honorably and we should be all proud of them. Let's take a moment on November 11th. to honor these men and to observe a moment of silence for those who did not return. Phone: 1-800-267-3946 smayhew@stadia.ca PROGRAM The cost of meals at Avra restaurant (formally Ellas) have risen as a result, the association has been forced to increase the cost of meals at the general meetings from $10.00 to $15.00. Annual membership dues will also be increased from $80.00 to $90.00 for members and from $175.00 to $200.00 for Associates. These increases become effective immediately. Our January meeting will feature a seminar by Robert Stewart of Ten Star Financial Services on retirement savings and financial planning. We expect a good turn out for this since it does co-inside with the start of the RSP season. We look forward to seeing you in January. As you know, we traditionally do not have a meeting in December, so I would like, on behalf of the members of the board of directors to wish you all the best for the coming holiday season.
